Traders Trophy

The Traders Trophy is a competition among students from the top universities who compete to become the best student 'trader' of their country on profitability, market awareness, client service and risk management. A securities trading simulation will be used for the competition.

The trading simulation used in the Traders Trophy gives the participants the opportunity to experience and operate in a dealing room environment. Up to 30 laptops are connected to become a virtual dealing room, where the participants trade with each other and simulated market players.

By participating in the Traders Trophy the students will get a chance to display their talent and abilities with regards to dealing room trading. Additionally, all participants - irrespective of actual results - will get a practical learning experience as to how the financial world in general, and the dealing room environment in particular, work in reality.

The Traders Trophy qualification rounds will be held at the universities, respectively. A maximum of 90 students per university will be given a chance to participate in the pre-rounds. It is expected that more than 90 students will enrol, hence the universities will perform a selection in order to ensure the best (motivated) students will be able to display their talent.

The best students from each university qualify for one of the 30 seats in the final.
